Solar Discount Group Expands to LA Area, South New Jersey

San Francisco-based One Block Off the Grid (1BOG), a solar group discount company, today announced it is expanding its service into South New Jersey, Los Angeles County, Inland Empire and Orange County. 1BOG researches local solar installers and negotiates group discounts for consumers.

In the LA area, 1BOG said nit will work with two installation companies, HelioPower and REC Solar. In New Jersey, the company said it will partner with Freehold, N.J.-based Trinity Solar to provide solar to 1BOG members, offering installations with an average payback time of four years. The company said homeowners who join the 1BOG community should see their installation costs reduced by around 15 percent.

The South New Jersey communities eligible for the program include Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean and Salem counties through Sept. 14, 2010.
